In support of
This is sent to support the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office. This is my first time ever to write a letter to a newspaper, but this seems to be a good time to start.
I am upset with all the negative comments that have been leveled at theACSO after the drug under operation at Amherst County High School.
I support the operation 100 percent and the ones that criticize it should only hope their kids in school will benefit from not having to deal with drugs with getting a good education.
I know it was costly to the ones caught up in the operation and I hope it sends a clear message to others considering drugs to think of the results that will happen to them when they get caught.
Again, thank you to the entire ACSO and especially the undercover deputy for a job well done.
This was a case where the money and costs were well spent.

Trashy morons
Unfortunately, trash is a problem everywhere but given that a sizable portion of roadside garbage consists of bottles and cans, Virginia is particularly nasty compared to states with deposits on such containers.
A current visitor from Michigan, where they have had a 10-cent deposit for years, remarked that she noticed the difference right away. What mental process (or lack of) thinks it is OK to throw trash along roadsides as they travel? Would they be upset if someone dumped trash where they lived? Or would they even see it? Too many people must be so used to having trash in their world that sadly, they do not even notice. How nice for us all. In particular, someone should slap silly those morons who regularly deposit their fast food debris at the end of North Main in Amherst and/or just over the town line. In addition, you may think littering is just a minor problem but, aside from all the negatives to our environment, check the amount of trash which is alcohol related. Some are not only littering but driving drunk. Oh Joy.

It is an absolute shame that Truthseeker has not taken better advantage of the educational opportunities available to his ilk. Since he/she/it has absolutely nothing better to do than sit hidden behind his keyboard and show this ignorance, I will happily feed out the facts that Truthseeker is too lazy to look up on the internet. IF Truthseeker was the least bit interested in Seeking the Truth, he would have gone to the Virginia Courts Case Information web portal at http://epwsgdp1.courts.state.va.us/gdcourts/caseSearch.do?index=index and looked up the charges against both adults. Amazingly enough the date of offense is listed for each of the charges AND WOW both subjects are alleged to have committed their offenses in 2008, well after their 18th birthdays. Humm. . . Then there is Truthseekers assertion that Law enforcement usually makes an arrest once the evidence /actions are viable to suppoert [sic] that immediate action. Well this again is a fine example of Truthseekers laziness. If he had ever bothered to switch the TV channel from the cartoon network to say . . . ANY OTHER CHANNEL, and watch one of the many documentaries on undercover law enforcement investigations, he would have learned that these types of cases can last for years. He would also learn that arrests are NOT made DURING the investigation for the obvious and simple reason that it would jeopardize the undercover officers safety. Then in another grand display of his indolence, Truthseeker believes that the arrests where held until the alleged offenders where adults. Well here again IF Truthseeker had steered his web browser away from the free porn site to the Virginia General Assemblys web portal for the Code of Virginia, http://legis.state.va.us/Laws/CodeofVa.htm, he would have discovered that a person is charged in a specific court, Juvenile or General District, based on the age of the accused at the TIME OF OFFENSE. Then there is Truthseekers constant harping about cover ups and diversions by the Sheriff; a true conspiracy junky. I wonder if he has realized yet that the whole landing a man on the moon thing is a big hoax as well. Then again I did see a man that looked an awful lot like Jimmy Ayers standing on that grassy knoll.
In closing, while I wont go into all of the grammatical errors in Truthseekers latest post, I will point out the CORRECT spelling for the following: Modus operandi, support and judgment. Now maybe Truthseekers mother will let him out of the closet so he can go to school.

Dear Mr. Watts, Yes, the students did wrong, in accordance to the law. But let’s look deeper than that, to the politician side, for instance. Jimmy Ayers had these kids nailed around 10 months ago. Law enforcement usually makes an arrest once the evidence /actions are viable to suppoert that immediate action. BUT, Amherst County had a football team agenda, winning a second state championship, and Jimmy Ayers would be not real popular if he removed one or more players during THAT timeframe. Then, another twist; he could not get MAXIMUM publicity out of this, bringing in WSET-13 to the high school to film his huge conquest if he’d have arrested the alleged criminals while they were minors, as the confidentiality of identity wouldn’t fit into his ‘grandstanding’ motus operendi. AND, finally, yet another twist; the bust took place within days after an obvious miscarriage of justice/lack of good judgement occurred when the sheriff’s dept. tried to make a murder suspect out to be a kidnap ‘victim’.....coincidentally as that ‘kidnap’ victim is the son of an Amherst county sheriff deputy!
On the surface, some might want to have a parade for Jimmy and his group, but deep down there is more to give consideration.
