School board to discuss big plan

The Amherst County School Board is scheduled to meet today, Thursday, Aug. 14, to approve its six-year comprehensive plan and consider a handful of additional action and informational items.
The comprehensive plan, discussed at the board’s last meeting is required by the state. It outlines specific goals and objectives for the division.
Board members are also scheduled to discuss policy manual revisions and the financing of new school buses.
Thursday’s meeting marks the first to be held using a new schedule.
The board will now meet on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the school administration building at 153 Washington St.
