Gospel sing slated Sunday to benefit Habitat efforts

Amherst County Habitat for Humanity plans its fourth annual Sing to the Lord gospel sing from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Madison Heights Baptist Church, 329 Main St., Madison Heights.
Besides Madison Heights Baptist, participating churches this year include Amherst Presbyterian Church; Clifford Baptist Church; Emmanuel United Methodist Church; and Saint Mark Baptist Church.
The Rev. Tim Madison, pastor of Madison Heights Baptist, will welcome visitors, and the Rev. Tim Hazlett of Emmanuel United Methodist will deliver the benediction for the service.
Funds raised through a collection will benefit Amherst County Habitat for Humanity.
After the event, Executive Director Craig Cassell will lead a tour of a Habitat home under construction across the street from the church.
