Here is a synopsis of crimes reported in Amherst County from Aug. 18 to Aug. 29 from the Amherst County Sheriff’s Department:
-Property damage, Old Wright Shop Road, Aug. 18: A front windshield was damaged.
-Property damage, Lipscomb Hollow Road, Aug. 21: A parked car was damaged
-Malicious wounding, Reid’s Place, Aug. 21: A resident was injured when a rock was thrown through a window of his car. A suspect has also been charged with cutting him on the face.
-Identity theft, Elon Road, Aug. 22: A local resident had a credit card opened in their name and charges made without permission.
-Petit larceny, Tattoo Lane, Aug. 22: A license plate, XVY-8444, was taken from a parked car.
-Property damage, Waugh’s Ferry Crossing, Aug. 23: A symbol was painted on the road in front of a residence.
-Armed robbery, Wagon Trail Road, Aug. 24: A resident came home from work and was confronted by a dark-skinned white male in his residence. The male was approximately 5-feet-7 and weighed about 170 pounds. He had short blond hair, and was wearing dark clothes. The suspect took the victim’s wallet and ran from the residence.
-Petit larceny, Autumn Glory Lane, Aug. 24: A 4-foot concrete pipe was taken.
-Property damage, West Perch, Aug. 24: Several street signs were damaged.
-Petit larceny, Sage Lane, Aug. 24: Cash was taken from a parked car.
-Petit larceny, South Amherst Highway, Aug. 26: Cash was taken from a register at Wendy’s.
-Property damage, Trojan Road, Aug. 26: A window was broken out of a school vehicle.
-Petit larceny, North Amherst Highway, Aug. 27: A driver pumped gas and drove off without paying.
-Property damage, Wright Shop Road, Aug. 27: A tire was cut on a car parked at a residence.
-Petit larceny, Winesap Road, Aug. 27: A Cobra bicycle was taken from a residence.
-Identity theft, High Peak Road, Aug. 27: A local resident had his Social Security number used by another person.
-Property damage, Valleyview Drive, Aug. 27: A Jeep was damaged.
-Grand larceny, West Briar, Aug. 28: A 1994 grey Chrysler Concorde with Virginia license XXG-2950 was taken from a residence.
-Grand larceny, Stow Away Lane, July 8: Two oriental rugs were taken from a storage unit.
