Here’s a synopsis of crimes reported to the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office from Nov. 7-14:
-Fraud, Seminole Drive, Oct. 31: A resident had charges made to a credit card without permission.
-Fraud, Stallion Way, Nov. 1: A resident had a number of accounts opened without permission.
-Defraud innkeeper, South Amherst Highway, Nov. 1: A Brightwell’s Mill Road resident was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public and using a taxi cab and not paying.
-Grand larceny, Dixie Airport Drive, Nov. 3: A vehicle was broken into and a radio was taken.
-Grand larceny, South Amherst Highway, Nov. 4: A total of 34video games were taken from Movie Gallery.
-Fraud, Plantation Road, Nov. 4: A resident received two forged checks in the mail.
-Property damage, Sonny Drive, Nov. 8: A window was broken out of a parked car.
-Petit larceny, Draper Drive, Nov. 9: A license plate was taken from a parked car.
-Prostitution, Horseford Road, Nov. 8: A Lynchburg resident was arrested on suspicion of prostitution. A Madison Heights man was charged with solicitation.
-Petit larceny, South Amherst Highway, Nov. 11: Jennifer L.Toms, 30, of Monroe, was arrested on suspicion of taking cassette tapes out of a car parked at Thomas Motor Inn.
-Property damage, Elon Road, Nov. 10: A door frame was damaged at a home.
-Property damage, Wilderness Creek Road, Nov. 10: A door was damaged at a residence.
-Burglary, Elon Road, Nov. 10: Several video games, an Xbox controller, a jewelry box, and several rings and bracelets were taken from a residence.
-Burglary, Horseshoe Bend, Nov. 10: A 22-inch Polaroid flat screen TV was taken from a residence.
-Attempted fraud, Flat Woods Road, Nov. 10: A scammer attempted to get a local residents’ credit card information.
-Grand larceny, Booker Lane, Nov. 11: A Hobart MIG welder was taken from a residence.
-Identity theft, Tanglewood Drive, Nov. 12: A resident’s identity has used for fours years by another individual.
-Petit larceny, Lowesville Road, Nov. 12: Four jack stands were taken from a residence.
-Grand larceny, Troy Lane, Nov. 12: Cash and four rings were taken from a residence.
-Petit larceny, Oakland Drive, Nov. 13: A JVC stereo and JanSport backpack were taken from a vehicle.
-Property damage, South Amherst Highway, Nov. 13: A mailbox was damaged.
-Property damage, Propane Lane, Nov. 13: A tanker truck was damaged.
-Grand larceny, Lowesville Road, Nov. 13: Cash, 14 firearms, a bow, a 12-inch knife, and a Shindaiwa grass trimmer and a chainsaw were taken from a residence.
-Grand larceny, Oakland Drive, Nov. 13: A DVD player and screen were taken from a residence.
