Joaquin Perez Acosta

Acosta is wanted for possession of marijuana. He is 6’ tall and weighs 220’. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last known to live in the Waterlick Road area of Campbell County and to work as a roofer in the Wintergreen area of Nelson County. Anyone with any information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-798-5900. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information regarding this crime. All information is totally confidential.

Below is a list of crimes being investigated by the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office.

Grand Larceny, South Amherst Highway, June 3, three trailer tarps were taken from a parked trailer.

Grand Larceny, Old Wright Shop Road, June 3, a desktop computer, 19” flat-screen monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse were taken from a residence.

Petit Larceny, North Amherst Highway, June 7, a driver pumped $44 in fuel and drove off without paying.

Petit Larceny, South Amherst Highway, June 7, a driver pumped $10 in fuel and drove off without paying.

Grand Larceny, Substation Lane, June 9, a quantity of cast-iron cement-lined duct-tile pipe was taken.

Credit Card Larceny, South Amherst Highway, June 9, an ATM card was taken.

Burglary, Monacan Park Road, June 8, several prescription medications were taken from a residence.

Petit Larceny, South Amherst Highway, June 11, a personalized Virginia license plate “ECMP” was taken from a car.

Property Damage, Trojan Road, June 11, a glass window on a crane was broken while it was parked.

Property Damage, Pomona Drive, June 8, a window to a parked car was broken out.

Credit Card Fraud, South Amherst Highway, June 11, a credit card charge was made against an account without the owner’s permission.

Grand Larceny, Long Mountain Wayside, June 12, a green and black bag with various hand tools, sleeping bag, black Red Wing boots, rescue squad uniform and BDU uniform, Adidas sport bag, jumper cables and various banking papers were taken from a car parked at the Long Mountain Wayside entrance to the Appalachian Trail.

Petit Larceny, Thrasher’s Creek Road, June 9, a wooden, painted cowboy silhouette was taken from a yard.

Burglary, Tyree Circle, June 11, cash was taken from a residence.

Credit Card Fraud, Valley Dale Road, May 17, a credit card was used without the owner’s permission.

Petit Larceny, Izaak Walton Road, June 13, a wallet was taken from a vehicle.

Petit Larceny, Izaak Walton Road, June 13, two pearl-handled pocket knives were taken from a vehicle.

Petit Larceny, Izaak Walton Road, June 13, cash was taken from a vehicle.

Grand Larceny, Izaak Walton Road, June 13, a Dell 620 laptop computer and power supply were taken from a vehicle.
