Here is a synopsis of crimes reported in Amherst County from Aug. 15 to Aug. 22, from the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office.
-Grand larceny, Tinsley Road, Aug. 13: An Ariens riding mower and a 3,500 watt generator were taken from a storage building.
-Property damage, Old Wright Shop Road, Aug. 17: A windshield was damaged on a parked vehicle.
-Identity theft, Amelon Square, Aug. 13: A cell phone and service were opened in an individual’s name without permission.
-Petit larceny, Seminole Drive, Aug. 14: A lawn hydrant was taken from a parked truck.
-Property damage, Perkin’s Mill Road, Aug. 15: A picnic shelter was damaged.
-Identity theft, Eastview Drive, Aug. 16: Several accounts were opened in a resident’s name without permission.
-Grand larceny, River James Shopping Center, July 5: A local resident used a company credit card to make personal purchases at Lowe’s.
-Grand larceny, Circle Brook Road, Aug. 18: A handgun was taken from a residence.
-Grand larceny, Galt’s Mill Road, Aug. 18: Two ladders marked “SA” and a gray handcart were taken from the Scott Zion Church construction site.
-Petit larceny, Tyree Circle, Aug. 18: Ten gallons of gas were siphoned from a parked car.
-Grand larceny, Spencer Street, Aug. 19: Landscaping materials were taken from a residence.
-Property damage, Flatwoods Drive, Aug. 19: A patio table was damaged at a residence.
-Grand larceny, Main Street, Aug. 20: A Chrysler outboard boat motor was taken from a boat in a yard.
-Burglary, Toytown Road, Aug. 22: A Phillips stereo, Playstation 2, and several Playstation games were taken from a residence.
